ABC SoCal Philosophy

ABC Southern California Chapter

The Southern California chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. was founded in May 1974, by a group of construction professionals. These men and women were seeking to form an organization to give voice to their unique concerns within the construction industry. Basing their chapter on the same ideals adapted by the national ABC organization, ABC Southern California was built on the following principles:

“To train employees for careers in construction and to forward the education of personnel in every phase of the industry.”

“To restore the Construction industry to its traditional status of free enterprise for the benefit of the American People.”

“To participate to the best of our ability in preserving the American way of life through a strong free market economy.”

Even in its early days, the Chapter proved to be a beacon of support for construction professionals committed to excellence. Their focus is to ensure free and fair marketplaces, improve the industry through education and training, raise the professional level of contractors through continued education, implement safety programs that benefit the entire industry and preserve the free enterprise system.

In addition to their commitment to continually add value to the Chapter membership, ABC Southern California has grown, and continues to grow, into one of the most respected business organizations in the region. The Chapter is recognized as one of the strongest and most effective Training Chapters among ABC’s 68 Chapters nationwide.
