Honoring the Finest Merit Construction Projects in Southern California
Each year, the Southern California Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC) honors the outstanding achievements of its members in the construction industry through the Excellence in Construction Awards (EIC). Regional winners have the opportunity to advance to national competitions.
ABC is the sole industry association that actively champions the advantages of Merit Construction. ABC advocates for free and open competition, maintaining that contracts should be awarded to the most qualified lowest bidder. The association strives to remove restrictive policies at all stages of public and private construction.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- ABC SoCal Membership is Required. Only ABC contractor members are eligible to enter.
- STEP Participation Required. If you have not completed your 2025 STEP application, click HERE to apply.
- Eligible projects must have been completed between 8/15/24 – 8/15/25.
CHAPTER DATES AND DEADLINES
- 7/18/25 – Phase I: Deadline to apply, register your project and submit payment (intent to compete)
- 8/15/25 – Phase II: Deadline to submit the final application. Applicants will have until 11:59 pm PST to finalize all applications. Judging takes place following Phase II
- All applicants will receive an email detailing the results of the competition
