STEP ONE:

WINTER SEMESTER (OPEN!)

*Orientation deadline is Friday, December 8th, 2023.

ELECTRICAL “ECTP” ENROLLMENT PACKET:

(ONLY FOR ELECTRICAL “ECTP” APPLICANTS)

STEP TWO:

Get with your ABC Member employer to complete and submit the combined ABC SoCal Electrician Trainee (ET) Program Enrollment and Initial Class Sign-up form, with the required fees.

  • We will send you/your employer an enrollment confirmation letter. Keep a copy of this letter as proof that you are enrolled in a state-approved ET program.
  • Textbooks will be handed out on the 1st night of class.
  • You must continue with your course of study to be considered a Trainee.

STEP THREE:

The Craft Training Administration will process and mail out the application for new registration of electrician trainee (ET Card) to the state.

  • When your application (ET Card) is processed by state, the state will send you a letter confirming your state-registered Electrician Trainee status along with your tracking and/or “T-number” along with the trainee card. (This can take up to 4-6 weeks from the date the $25 payment is cashed by the State.)

Complete the state registration form. Our “school number” is 102. Staple a copy of the ABC SoCal enrollment confirmation letter to your completed state registration form and mail both to the address below. Be sure to include the state’s $25 registration fee (check or money order).

When your packet is processed, the state will send you a letter confirming your state-registered Electrician Trainee status. This letter will also include your tracking or “T-number” and trainee card.

What is an Electrician Trainee? (ECTP) An electrician trainee is someone who does not qualify to take the state certification exam because they lack the necessary experience or related instruction, but who has legally registered with the state to perform electrical work for a C-10 contractor. ***All trainees enrolled in an electrician certification training program must register with the state to receive an ET card and be compliant with the state.
